Energy Food for Survival Preparedness

Why Do You Need Energy Food in Survival Situations?

Survival food is an important part of survival preparedness. Without proper nourishment, your chances of survival are greatly reduced. For this reason good survial food is an essential part of any survival kit. Make sure you have enough high energy survival food for yourself and your family stored in your survival kits.

The first suggestion I am going to make for energy food is high-calorie food bars. These are cheap and lightweight, allowing you to easily carry them in your survival kit or otherwise carry them with you in a survival situation. Most have a shelf-life of a few years and can withstand changes in temperature while being stored.

Dried foods are another alternative for high energy in survival situations. Dried meat as well as dried fruits and vegetables work very well to provide calories in high stress situations. Dried foods can also be stored for long periods of time and are lightweight as well.

Energy drinks are also a good option for survival food. Drinks tend to be a little heavier but the nutrients are readily absorbed by the body once drinken. You can also find drink powder that just needs water added to it. This would be very lightweight and is a great alternative to hard food if you are confident you can find enough water to use it.

No matter what high-energy survival food you choose, make sure it can stored for a long time, tastes good and is lightweight. Store enough to last your entire family for at least 3 days. You may be glad you did!
